The Harold series of balloons have been made since 1996 as re-creations of older balloons based on the same character.

Bobo the Hobo was the first design in the series, debuting in 1945. He was redesigned into The Baseball Player in 1946, making a famous appearance in the 1947 film Miracle on 34th Street. The balloon was redesigned into The Police Officer in 1947 and lastly in 1948 as The Fireman, which is how it remained until the 50's.

In 1996 to celebrate the 60th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, a replica of The Fireman debuted called Harold the Fireman, which has appeared in the parade since then. He was joined in 2011 by a re-creation of The Policeman balloon which is known as Harold the Police Officer, and in 2017 both Harold balloons will be joined by a re-creation of The Baseball Player balloon known as Harold the Baseball Player, made to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Miracle on 34th Street, and will be sponsored by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.
