The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) are a fictional team of four teenaged humanoid turtles who first appeared in May 1984 in comic books based on chracters originally created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird in November 1983, later also appearing in various other versions varying from animated series to films.

The franchise was bought by Nickelodeon from Mirage Studios in October 2009.

The Neon Trees, Fall Out Boy, MKTO, and Panic! at the Disco have performed on the float. It's one of the largest and biggest floats in the parade.

In 1990, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles rode in the infamous Rocketship Car to promote the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.

In 1991, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles rode in 1964 Lincoln Continentals, each wearing a Santa hat.

In 2012, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles returned to the parade and promoted Nickelodeon's new show, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

In 2014, the turtles appeared again.

In 2015, the turtles reappeared.

In 2016, the turtles also appeared.

In 2017, the turtles appeared again.
